1General
- 1.1GRID48 is an iRacing league running the Ray FF1600 as a spec car. Every driver races the same car on the same setup.
- 1.2Your iRacing name must be your real name, and your Discord name must match it so stewards and admins can find you.
- 1.3All announcements, server details, and race-night info are posted on Discord. Being in the Discord is required to race.
- 1.4Anyone can join at any round. There's no sign-up for the full season, and points count from the first round you race.
2Race Format
- 2.1Races run Wednesdays at 7:00 PM Pacific. The server opens 30 minutes before practice.
- 2.2Each round is 20 minutes of practice, 10 minutes of open qualifying, and a 30-minute race.
- 2.3Fixed setup. Realistic weather and track state, with damage on. Fuel is not a factor.
- 2.4Races use a rolling start from qualifying order. Hold position and pace until the green flag; no passing before the start line.
3Points
- 3.1Points for finishing position:P125P218P315P412P510P68P76P84P92P101
- 3.2You must complete 75% of the winner's laps to be classified and score points.
- 3.3All 12 rounds count. There are no dropped rounds.
- 3.4Ties are broken by most wins, then most 2nd places, and so on down the order.
4Racecraft
The short version: leave a car's width, and if you hit someone, give the position back.
- 4.1The car alongside at turn-in is entitled to racing room. Overlap means the attacker's front wheels are at least level with the defender's rear wheels.
- 4.2One defensive move per straight, made before the braking zone. No moving under braking.
- 4.3Lap 1, Turn 1 is not where the race is won. Contact that takes out another car on the opening lap is penalized more heavily.
- 4.4After going off, rejoin safely and stay off the racing line until it's clear.
- 4.5If contact gains you a position, give it back right away. Doing that voluntarily is taken into account if the incident is reported.
5Incidents & Stewards
- 5.1Report incidents in the Discord #incident-reports channel within 24 hours of the race. Include the lap, the corner, and the session time.
- 5.2Stewards review the replay and post a decision within 72 hours. Results are provisional until then.
- 5.3A steward involved in an incident does not vote on it.
6Penalties
- 6.1Stewards choose from the following, depending on how serious the incident was:
Offense Typical penalty Avoidable contact, no position change Warning Contact that gains a position +5 seconds to race time Contact that causes a spin or retirement +10 to 30 seconds Repeated or reckless driving Points deduction or race ban Intentional wrecking Removal from the league - 6.2Time penalties are added to the race time and the results are updated on the site.
7Disconnects & No-Shows
- 7.1If you disconnect, rejoin if you can. You're classified on laps completed, as in 3.2.
- 7.2There's no penalty for missing a round. You just don't score.
- 7.3If you join the server but won't make the start, say so in Discord so the grid can be set.
8Conduct
- 8.1Keep it respectful on track, in voice, in text chat, and on Discord. No harassment, no rage.
- 8.2Keep the race-session voice channel for spotting and racing only. Banter goes in the lobby.
- 8.3Streaming and recording are welcome. Please share clips with the league for the Media page.
9Rule Changes
- 9.1League admins can update these rules between rounds. Changes are announced on Discord, and the date at the top of this page is updated.
- 9.2Anything not covered here is decided by the admins.
